Malay cuisine in Singapore created by the ethnic Malays has many influences from Malays in the region namely, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. Some of the dishes such as Nasi Lemak, Mee Rebus, Mee Siam and Satay are so popular that Singapore has named them as local favourites, liked by many Singaporeans of different races.

Malay food prepared by ethnic Malays are halal. There are many non-Malay food establishments that serve Malay food as well. Do check for MUIS halal certificate to ensure that their food is halal.
