Built in 1942, the bakery is the oldest surviving muslim bakery in Singapore. It was first named Indian Bakery - founded by Mr Shaik Jan Bux and the business was taken over by his son - Mr Mahmood Hussain in 1977. The bakery was later changed from Indian Bakery to Indian Muslim Bakery and to what is known now as Indian Muslim Bakery and Confectionery Pte Ltd.
Indian Muslim Bakery & Confectionery closed in Oct 2023.
